Bondestugan is a unique Gotlandic collaboration between agriculture and tourism. Since 2000, local farmers have built and rented out modern, high-quality cottages on their own land, with the aim of offering attractive and comfortable holiday accommodation while contributing to the development of Gotland’s countryside.
The cottages are built with traditional Gotlandic influences and designed to blend into the surrounding landscape. Wherever possible, local timber and stone are used, and furnishings from Gotlandic businesses have also been part of the concept. The cottages are fully equipped and situated in secluded locations across the island.
Today, Bondestugan cottages can be found in several locations across Gotland, and the concept continues under the management of the Bondestugan Economic Association. Over the years, the cottages have become popular with both Swedish and international guests looking for a personal stay close to nature. Here, you can enjoy Gotland in peace and quiet, whether you visit in spring, summer, autumn or winter.
